Analytics Drive ERP
Mark Liss, president, Explorer Software, www.explorer-software.com, Vancouver, B.C., recently sat down with Constructech to discuss how analytics can be leveraged in ERP (enterprise-resource planning) software.
Constructech: How has your product evolved in the past year, and what is coming next?
Eclipse continues to improve on the reporting and document management features of the solution. With respect to Eclipse Business Analytics module that allows end users to create their own reports and dashboards, users can now publish reports using templates to easily format headers, footers, and the data presentation. Column security has been added to all analytics making it easier to share data while still maintaining security to sensitive information. The workflow capabilities of DocPro, Eclipse document management module, have been augmented to provide user-friendly views of documents that have been routed for approval, allowing them to see at a glance a thumbnail of the document, the cost impact and distribution, and the history of the workflow. Users can easily drill into any of those details to take a closer look or make changes. The coming year will see more improvements in the user experience, making Eclipse more intuitive and easy-to-use to drive productivity.
Constructech: How will your product help builders improve business in 2017?
Eclipse is designed toward the end results, making better decisions faster. Eclipse is a realtime system, all data entered is immediately available for reporting. Eclipse Business Analytics allows the end user to modify standard reports by allowing them to choose the data they need, adding their own calculations or user-defined elements, and present it in the way they want to see it—tables, graphs, dashboards. Realtime data and business analytics provide the tools you need to manage your business like never before.
Constructech: What makes the product unique? How are you different from your competitors?
Two differentiators for Explorer Eclipse is our direct delivery of all services and an enterprise solution that does not rely on third-party integrations. Explorer Eclipse is an enterprise solution that is delivered by Explorer’s dedicated staff; no third-party solution providers, no off-shore support or development. Explorer’s staff develops the software, installs and implements the solution. Because we provide the solution directly, we establish a working relationship with each of our customers that provides valuable interaction and the feedback we receive from our customers is used to develop new features and functions.
Eclipse was the first fully browser-based solution introduced to the construction industry. Reporting using Eclipse Business Analytics and Document Management using Eclipse DocPro provides the enterprise level tools in a single solution that allows clients to limit or eliminate disparate systems they need to run their business.
