Perceptive Software, www.perceptivesoftware.com, Lenexa, Kan., announces that construction and project-management services provider EllisDon, www.ellisdon.com, Mississauga, Ontario, has selected Perceptive Capture for the automation of AP (accounts payable) documents, including more than 400,000 invoices annually, as the company pursues implementation of a Gate Three ERP (enterprise resource management) system across the enterprise.

Gate Three is a construction-management tool offered by Ellis Don and based on a “software-as-a-service” model. Incorporated in 1951, EllisDon is an employee-owned construction services company that offers construction and project management services, in addition to a range of solutions in design, operations, sustainability and information technology.

Initially, Perceptive Capture will be used for extraction of non-purchase order-based invoices, minimizing the need for manual data entry and enabling rapid routing of invoice data for approval by the appropriate parties. As EllisDon’s ERP project matures, there will be a greater emphasis on purchase order-based invoices, whereby Perceptive Capture will support touchless processing of data, from receipt to post.

EllisDon cited the software’s capabilities for effective exception handling, high rates of accurate extraction, effective interactions with a myriad of content repositories, and EllisDon’s ability to maintain the system using internal IT resources as being key to the company’s decision to select Perceptive Capture.

“Perceptive’s solution offered a fast, simple mechanism for viewing, correcting and validating invoice data as needed, without manual preparations,” says Joe Jagodich, EllisDon vice president and chief information officer. “We can configure and manage the system using our own staff, resources that will no longer be tied up by manual keying and hunting for missing documents.”

“As we shift our accounts payable to a purchase order-enabled system,” Jagodich continues, “we anticipate the capture technology will enable high rates of throughput—beyond what might be accomplished with greater headcount alone—as a result of its high functionality for line-item capture and pairing.”

Perceptive Software, a Lexmark company, builds a complete family of intelligent capture, content and process management, enterprise search and integration products that connect enterprise applications to the processes and information outside those applications.
