Big Data is sweeping many industries, including the construction vertical. Companies are collecting customer data and, using advanced analytics, extracting meaningful information from it that helps managers boost business.

Penhall Co., www.penhall.com, Anaheim, Calif., announced the use of Salesforce, www.salesforce.com, San Francisco, Calif., to upgrade its central database for customer contacts, supporting collaboration across all levels of operations and creating better sales pipeline visibility.

Elisabeth Doser, director of IT operations and project manager, Salesforce, says creating strong relationships and tracking them are important keys to success. She adds Penhall will manage opportunities and better understand trends as they occur with Salesforce.

A pilot program (version 1.0) was launched earlier this year and recently Penhall announced the companywide launch of version 2.0. Additionally, an internal Penhall team has been appointed to be responsible for understanding the business processes, translating needs into effective solutions and ensuring everyone receives intensive one-on-one training.

Salesforce will help Penhall provide realtime information accessible from anywhere and any device to the team. Bringing the company forward to use the technology keeps Penhall on the forefront of CRM (customer-relationship management) and provides customers a streamlined platform across all levels of the organization.

With Salesforce, information is now readily available when reps are on jobsites or traveling away from the office. Capturing information in Salesforce will ensure important communication is traceable and Penhall can work to follow up with customers quickly and efficiently, spot problems, improve services, and identify gaps.

Penhall will use Salesforce to upgrade its central database for customer contacts, supporting collaboration across all levels of operations and creating better sales pipeline visibility. The implementation is phase-based, with introduction of the system to the employees of Penhall with a detailed one-on-one approach.
