The IT companies that cater to today’s construction companies are ever increasing their resources, to reflect the needs of the industry. For example, Cloud Takeoff,, Mason, Ohio, even changed its name to STACK Construction Technologies to reflect a dramatic revamp and expansion of its estimating, collaborating, and sharing of digital blueprints.

STACK’s new brand will increasingly meet additional needs of clients in the construction industry—and building contractors used it to upload more than five million pages of blueprints in 2014. However, the company’s goal from the beginning has been to simplify the entire estimating process, not just the takeoff, or measuring, part. And more than 30,000 hours of software development went into the company’s latest products.

STACK changes include Takeoff, the company’s original cloud-based tool, which has been completely redesigned into what is now a fast, simple to use, blueprint measuring software available. STACK Estimating combines blueprint takeoffs with detailed estimating and includes an item and assembly catalog that can be tailored to the user’s needs. Finally, STACK Plan Viewer allows blueprint markup and takeoff and eliminates the need to download or print blueprints.

Each of these tools helps the contractor to grow their business faster by bidding more projects, in less time, and with much greater accuracy than ever before, according to the company.

Innovations like these will continue to transform the way the construction industry works, estimates, and collaborates using digital plans.
