Carol Stream, Ill. — July 8, 2014 — Software and hardware in the construction industry is rapidly evolving, which makes it difficult for companies to keep up with the latest cloud-based systems. This leads to the question: Which construction-technology companies are the most influential with a strong market presence? To answer this question, Constructech magazine unveils its annual list of the leading technology companies in its sixth edition of the Constructech 50 in its July/Aug issue of its magazine. Only 18 companies have remained on the ranking’s list since its inception.

The companies on the Constructech 50 continually help construction firms leverage the power of technology. The list is an essential recognition for construction-technology providers that are driving the construction industry forward. Since 2009, Constructech magazine has been publishing this highly anticipated annual list of the Constructech 50.

Each year, the submitted entries are then ranked by Constructech’s editorial team based on unique criteria, which includes evaluating the ongoing customer satisfaction and growth, having a strong product/service aimed at the construction industry, as well as outreach and educational efforts in the industry.

With the rapidly changing trends in the construction-technology space, this year’s Constructech 50 list has seen a big shakeup, due to four of the companies on last year’s list coming off due to M&A (merger and acquisition) activity. The technology providers that have either merged or acquired past Constructech 50 winners are closely evaluated by the editorial team to be assess whether they meet all of the criteria. The reviewing and ranking process involves considerable research and interviews to determine the industry’s top providers.

“As we release the annual Constructech 50, the tech companies that are recognized realize they have to do more than just make upgrades to their products. They have to help drive the construction industry forward and that means doing something special year after year to be recognized on the Constructech 50,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Constructech magazine. “We are pleased to announce this year’s Constructech 50 because these companies are innovators and leaders of the industry, and we are excited to see what else they can accomplish.”
