Architecture firm Miletus Group, www.miletusgroup.com, Rochester, Ind., in partnership with Jobsite Leasing Co., www.jobsitemobileoffices.com, Rochester, Ind., recently provided Genesis Property Development, www.genesispd.net, Shelbyville, Ind., with its HPMO (high performance mobile office) solution, which is credited with helping the developer achieve onsite work efficiencies and operating cost savings.

Genesis Property Development used the HPMO as its onsite headquarters during a long-term construction project for Endress+Hauser, www.us.endress.com, in Greenwood, Ind., which began with two projects—the expansion of an existing manufacturing plant, and construction of a new manufacturing facility for the Swiss-based global company focused on measurement instrumentation, services, and solutions for industrial process engineering.

The completion of the projects in May 2014 resulted in Endress+Hauser extending Genesis’ contract to include construction of a third building—a two-story customer training center.

“We’ve worked out of many job trailers in the past that were hot in summer months and cold and drafty in the winter, and didn’t offer the type of configuration to accommodate our workflow,” recalls Genesis Property Development Vice President Of Construction Bill Poland. “We found the HPMO to be extremely well built, and its year-round energy efficiency was substantially better than any other mobile office trailers we’ve used.”

The layout was configured to GPD’s specifications, and the unit included lighting sensors, an advanced HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system, energy efficient windows, and thicker wall construction with enhanced insulation that continued throughout the floor and roof.

These elements along with several other proprietary environmental features were designed to reduce energy consumption by more than 50%. Energy efficient lighting with occupancy sensors further supported the operational cost reduction initiative.

Thicker wall construction and heavier insulation created an acoustical environment credited with allowing staff members to operate more effectively and thrive under noisy exterior construction conditions.
