Construction companies are increasingly finding real value in partnering with software vendors for cloud technology including mobile access.

To this end, Dixon Projects, a construction subsidiary of Dixon Advisory USA,, Jersey City, N.J., has selected Jonas Premier from Jonas Construction Software,, Markham, Ont., as its construction software to manage its rapidly growing operations.

Dixon Advisory USA chose Jonas Premier based on the unique fit of the two organizations. Jonas Premier is specifically tailored to meet the software needs of Dixon Projects, by enabling it to configure the software to its requirements. The cloud-based software solution, Premier, enables mobile access without the need to invest in any heavy hardware and infrastructure.

Dixon Projects also looked to Jonas Premier because of the open communication and family-like environment found with Jonas. According to Tom Durham, financial controller, Dixon Projects, there is always someone at Jonas to speak with, and that person is someone that Dixon has a close relationship with.

Additionally, Durham says implementing new software into a growing organization while trying to simultaneously build the business is challenging. However, with the team in place at Jonas Premier, the process is much smoother than previously thought.

Another factor is the cloud and fee structure in place—the SaaS (software-as-a-service) based model has multiple advantages that include lower costs, accountability by the vendor, reduced time to benefit, and scalability.
