Tekla, www.tekla.com, Helsinki, Finland, has introduced Tedds 2015, a new version of its software for automating repetitive civil and structural calculations for engineers. The release contains new features and enhancements to reduce the time engineers spend producing calculations and associated documentation.

According to the Trimble Co., www.trimble.com, Sunnyvale, Calif., new features of the package allow engineers to better analyze and design beams to Eurocode—technical rules developed by the European Committee for Standardization for the structural design of construction works in the EU (European Union).

The new capabilities are also said to enable users to simultaneously review multiple loading configurations, and produce high-quality documentation that combines numerous calculations into a single report.

New product features include intuitively design steel beams, review multiple loading configurations simultaneously, more easily combine multiple calculations in a single report, access all design codes, and free upgrade opportunity for maintained users, among others.

While this is one example, a number of construction technology providers continue to release new software designed with the needs of the industry in mind.
