Finding the right company to do construction work on your home can be pretty tough; however, a new app by Porch.com, www.porch.com, can locate and get you in touch with professionals who have done similar work right in your own area.

The company has released The Porch App, available for both iPad touch and iPhone, which can help a person tap into finding professionals based on who their neighbors have used and recommended. Three separate offerings allow for the homeowner to locate the right professional needed for the job: Concierge, Pro Dial, and Pro Search.

With the Concierge program, the user can engage in a live, interactive audio experience with a Porch representative. This person can provide consultation for homeowners to help them identify which pro type to use and get them connected to a professional who did similar work in the homeowner’s neighborhood live over the phone.

If customers already know of the pro type they need, they can use the Pro Dial button and be hooked up in less than one minute with a professional who can help them out. The ability to get this done inside of 60 seconds is due to Pro Dial’s use of a proprietary self-optimizing algorithm which sequentially dials and prioritizes professionals in order to find a live trusted professional for the customer.

Pro Search is designed to allow customers to look over a list of professionals and identify which one would be perfect to fit their particular needs.

“Over the last year, we have seen incredible adoption of our platform from both homeowners and home improvement professionals,” says Matt Ehrlichman, CEO, Porch. “As the home network continues to grow we are committed to solving the major pain points both homeowners and professionals deal with everyday. Through our unique approach to data and analytics, the Porch App will fundamentally change the way homeowners look for, find, and book the home improvement or maintenance professional that is right for them by removing the friction that exists today and putting the Porch home network in the palm of their hands.”

Porch sees the ability to make the searching process for the customer very easy through the use of its network of more than 2.8 million professionals, 121 million projects, $2 trillion in tracked improvement spend, and business partners such as Lowe’s, www.lowes.com, and realtor.com, www.realtor.com.

The Porch App is free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch. Support for additional mobile platforms will be announced in 2015.

Select homeowners in the Seattle area can access the Porch Booking Beta via the Porch App. Homeowners can look for ways they can get small maintenance projects worked on at pre-negotiated rates by Porch Certified Professionals. Users can book, schedule, and pay for projects by the Porch Certified Professionals within the Porch App.

Homeowners can choose from services such as carpet cleaning, handymen, remodeling contractors, landscapers, and painters all at pre-negotiated hourly rates.

The Porch Booking Beta will be available in additional cities over the coming months.
