e-Builder, the pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction management software for owners, has added the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) to its growing list of higher education organizations. At 146 years old, UNL is a leading teaching and research institution and was one of the first universities west of the Mississippi River to award a doctoral degree. UNL will look to e-Builder Enterprise’s construction management software to provide a central construction project repository, create consistent processes and to assist with capital construction reporting, amongst many other objectives.

The UNL sought a cloud-based construction solution to serve as a capital construction repository and historical archive for scope, schedule and budget, design submittals and reviews and construction change management. The university will also use e-Builder Enterprise as a central location for planning, construction submittals, as-builts storage, warranty, O & M manuals, meeting minutes and field reports.

UNL will also be using e-Builder Enterprise for their capital construction reporting, KPIs and performance metrics, Board of Regents and Central Administration reports, and management reports will be easily accessible, in real-time through the system. “e-Builder is bringing us more transparency and better communication with our various stakeholders such as the Central Administration and Board of Regents, as well as with A/E firms, contractors and UNL’s Facilities Maintenance and Operations team,” said Stefan Newbold, Engineering Manager at the University.

To further guarantee that e-Builder serves as a central location for all project data, e-Builder is integrating with the university’s back end accounting software. e-Builder’s integrated web service APIs ensure seamless integration with other systems and facilitate real-time data exchanges. “e-Builder’s integration with UNL’s accounting software will save the university both time and money by streamlining project data into one location and breaking down the barriers between multiple systems,” says Ron Antevy, CEO of e-Builder. “UNL’s rich history and renowned research and education programs are a great addition to the e-Builder roster,” he added.

“e-Builder stood out as having the best solution in terms of being owner-focused as opposed to other vendors who tried to be too much of a ‘Swiss army knife’ and geared themselves towards A/E and contractor firms,” said Newbold.
