—Constructech editors
Viewpoint Construction Software has long been a leader in the construction industry, but as of late, the company has been making some very big, and interesting moves that will impact the future of construction technology.
Along with receiving new funding from investors, the company has made a number of acquisitions in the last year including MCS (Priority1) in December 2014 and Jobpac in April 2015, which continue to demonstrate its desire to be a technology powerhouse in the construction marketplace. This comes as a complement to an already long portfolio of acquired companies including Mobile Computing Systems, Maxwell Systems, Construction Imaging, CIS, 4Projects, and ACS Connect.
With the acquisitions has come global growth. Viewpoint Construction Software now has customers located across the globe in more than 28 countries that use the technology to improve project profitability and visibility, manage risk, and effectively collaborate with the entire team.
The company, 800 employees strong, is in a position to provide everything needed from preconstruction to construction and facilities management, offered on a variety of platforms including cloud, mobile, SaaS (software-as-a-service), and on premise. In recent months, Viewpoint Construction Software has offered a much broader swath of product capabilities and a host of solutions compared to years past. This includes a number of updates to Vista by Viewpoint for improved ECM (enterprise-content management), searching, and archival of data.
Viewpoint Construction Software has also taken a very keen focus on mobile and cloud—as represented by many of its acquisitions and product enhancements in recent years. Across the expanse of its products Viewpoint is in a very good position to do many things for the industry going forward.
The ERP (enterprise-resource planning) provider has effectively positioned itself to be one of the leading global software vendors in the construction industry, offering solutions the enable greater collaboration and data sharing on projects.
