What’s Coming for Takeoffs
Angelo Castelli, president, On Center Software, www.oncenter.com, The Woodlands, Texas, recently sat down with Constructech to discuss how takeoff technology can help improve business processes in 2017.
Constructech: How has your product evolved in the past year, and what is coming next?
Castelli: On-Screen Takeoff is the most mature takeoff product in today’s market and innovation wouldn’t be possible without the feedback of our users. During the last year, we pushed On-Screen Takeoff to utilize the power of the latest computer hardware with an upgrade to 64-bit technology. In addition to the compatibility updates necessary to support Windows 10, we expanded our accounting export capabilities and included several high demand features into the software.
Constructech: How will your product help builders improve business in 2017?
Castelli: Contractors who use On-Screen Takeoff will continue to benefit from software designed to make the bidding process easier. In today’s climate with a labor shortage and the strong economic outlook of new projects in construction, On-Screen Takeoff will continue to provide the speed and accuracy needed to allow estimators to maximize margin on the projects they bid.
Constructech: What makes the product unique? How are you different from your competitors?
Castelli: There isn’t any other solution on the market today better suited for a contractor’s accuracy and speed needs, ability to scale with the business, collaborate with the internal and external team, or receive support when it matters most. On-Screen Takeoff’s development is led by users. The product has been developed and enriched with the best practices of the industry during the past 20 years.
